
Fisher Cats Rally Falls Short

New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
Manchester, NH - RHP Clay Buchholz (6-2) worked 6.1 innings, allowing 4 hits, a run, while striking out 11 as Portland (37-34) topped New Hampshire (39-35) Monday night at Merchantsauto.com Stadium.
The Sea Dogs pounded out another 14 hits, en route to a third win in the four game series. RF Cory Keylor (2-for-4) started the scoring with a second inning solo homer off losing pitcher Ricky Romero (0-2). DH Jeff Natale (2-for-2, 3 walks) drove in two runs with a third inning double, and SS Jed Lowrie (3-for-5, 2 doubles) delivered an RBI single scoring CF Jeff Corsaletti (4-for-5) in the 4th to give Portland a 4-0 lead.
C John Otness drove in the final Sea Dog run with a 7th inning double off reliever Ismael Ramirez.
New Hampshire scored two runs in the seventh on CF Dustin Majewski's inside-the-park home run to left field, the RELCO Enlightening Play of the Game.
LF Aaron Mathews blasted a two-run homer following a double by 3B Rob Cosby in the 9th to cut the deficit to 5-4 before reliever Mike James retired the final three Fisher Cats to earn his 12th save.
After a day off, the Fisher Cats open a series with the New Britain Rock Cats (Minnesota AA). LHP Eric Fowler (1-0, 0.00) pitches for New Hampshire against New Britain RHP Kyle Waldrop (1-4, 5.14).
