
Fisher Cats finish homestand strong

New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release
(Manchester)- Todd Ozias pitched a career-high seven innings and Tyrell Godwin went 3-4, with a homerun as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats topped the Akron Aeros 5-2 Wednesday afternoon at Gill Stadium.
Godwin broke a scoreless tie in the 4th with his first homer of the season, a solo shot to center, off Akron starter and loser Francisco Cruceta (2-2).
Justin Singleton started a 3-run sixth for the Fishers with his second homer of the season. Dominic Rich and Aaron Hill also delivered RBI singles in the inning.
Ozias, now 2-1, held Akron scoreless until two outs in the 7th, when he gave up a single to Corey Smith and homer to Tyler Minges.
The Fisher Cats added a run in the bottom of the 7th. Stubby Clapp doubled, and scored on a Godwin single to center.
Adam Peterson pitched a scoreless 9th to earn his 5th save.
New Hampshire concluded the homestand with a 4-3 record. The Fisher Cats open a nine-game roadtrip tomorrow in Reading, Pennsylvania. Manager Mike Basso will start lefty Derek Lee (0-3) against Keith Bucktrot (1-1) for the Phillies.
