Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release

Goldeyes fans in Winnipeg and Southern Manitoba will be treated to more of a good thing this summer.

General manager Andrew Collier announced today that 86 of the Northern League club's 90 games will be on radio this year – the most in franchise history. Of those 86, 50 will be broadcast exclusively on CJOB 68, another 20 will be broadcast exclusively on CKMW 1570 while the remaining 16 will air on both.

"We are extremely pleased with our radio broadcast schedule this year," said Collier. " Over the past number of years, Goldeyes fans have been asking for more games to be broadcast, and thanks to CJOB and CKMW, we have accomplished that this season."

As the Goldeyes announced their radio schedule, they also announced that broadcaster Paul Edmonds will be back for his ninth season. He'll call his first game when the baseball season opens on Friday, May 23 from Fargo's Newman Outdoor Field and will be behind the mic on Sunday, August 31 at home when Winnipeg hosts Lincoln in the season finale.

All told, the Goldeyes will play at least once on every day of the week on CJOB. That includes three Monday, nine Tuesday, eight Wednesday, seven Thursday, 12 Friday, 13 Saturday and 14 Sunday contests. On CKMW, there will be eight Monday, four Tuesday, three Wednesday, three Thursday, three Friday and 15 Saturday contests.

The four games that will not air include two Thursday matinees (June 5 & July 31) and two Wednesday evening contests (July 30 & August 13).
