Kinston Indians News Release
Kinston, NC (May 17, 2010) - The series opener between the Salem Red Sox and the Kinston Indians has been postponed due to steady rain in eastern North Carolina. The Sox and Tribe will open their four-game set with a doubleheader, scheduled to begin at 5PM on Tuesday afternoon. The twin-bill will consist of two seven-inning games.
Both clubs enter the week riding hot streaks, as the Red Sox have won three straight and four of their last five, while the Indians have bounced back from their slow start to the season and have picked up victories in eight of their last 11 games.
Salem will send Fabian Williamson to the mound for game one, and reliever Jeremy Kehrt will make his second spot-start of the year in game two. Kinston is scheduled to have Alex White pitch the opener. The game two starter for Kinston is the ever-popular TBA.
With the five o'clock start on Tuesday, the broadcast will begin at www.salemsox.com, with the radio audience on Flagship Station NewsTalk 960 WFIR joining the game in progress at 6PM.
