
PELICANS-DASH OPENER WASHED OUT

Myrtle Beach Pelicans News Release
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Monday's series opener of the Pelicans' four-game set with the Winston-Salem Dash has been postponed due to rain at BB&T Ballpark. The two clubs will make up Monday's game as the second contest of a day-night doubleheader on Wednesday, May 19.
Wednesday's originally scheduled 12:00 PM game will go forward at its slated time. Game two of the split doubleheader will start at 7:00 PM. Monday's originally scheduled pitching matchup will be pushed back to Tuesday with Pelicans right-hander J.J. Hoover (1-2, 5.24), coming off his best start of the season, against Winston-Salem southpaw Charlie Leesman (4-1, 5.91) for the de facto series opener at 7:00 PM.
The Pelicans return to the Grand Strand on Tuesday, May 25 for the first of a six-game homestand with the Lynchburg Hillcats and Wilmington Blue Rocks. The three-game set against Lynchburg opens up with Dollar Hot Dog Night on the 25th. Fans can enjoy $1 dogs all night long Tuesday along with the next installment of the Pelicans Team Tuesday Poster Series.
