Atlanta Dream News Release

Allisha Gray's late-game burst gave Atlanta the edge against Los Angeles.

The Dream were up by as many as 17 points in the second quarter, but in the third, the Sparks fought back, starting the third on an 11-3 run.

"Basketball is a game of runs," Gray told the media post-game. "I feel like we responded well once we locked in."

Up by just five points midway through the third, the game could've gone either way for The Dream. Gray ensured the result would favor Atlanta.

She was fouled on a three-point attempt and converted on all three free throws; then she had an and-one play taking advantage of the undersized Zia Cooke on a fast break. This burst of offense was part of a 13-0 run that gave Atlanta a 13-point lead entering the fourth.

In the final quarter, it was the Gray show as she opened up the frame on an 8-0 run. Another and-one basket, this time over Dearica Hamby, a 26-foot three-pointer on the wing, followed by a quick basket in the paint after a Haley Jones block.

Gray's offensive outburst gave the Dream a 21-point lead, their biggest of the night and secured their third win in a row. While she dominated the game during these minutes, Gray stressed that it was all within the offense.

"It was just within the flow of the game," Gray said in the post-game presser. "We all were in the right spots; everybody was making the right passes, I was able to knock down shots."

By being aggressive and taking advantage of the Sparks' undersized guards, All-Star Allisha Gray ensured Atlanta would start this three-game road trip with a win.
