First team Spotlighted; Free Agent Camp Additions

The Detroit Hitmen have the honor of being the first team ever spotlighted on the website, The Hockey Craze. The Hockey Craze is a website devoted to minor league hockey news. They have articles about various teams and leagues in minor league hockey. The Hockey Craze also holds an annual playoff for the best team logos. The logo voted as the best wins the "Logo Championship". Matt Wiedenhoeft had much to say about the honor. "I am excited with all the developments happening in such a short period of time. Being asked to be the first team to be spotlighted is exciting." He added, "This is just a sign of all the good things to happen to the Hitmen this season." The Hitmen closed out their free agent camp this past weekend. It was a great turnout, with talented players. The camp was held over two days and with 36 players. The following players were invited to main camp on a training camp agreement, which opens October 12, 2009:

The following players bring the training camp roster to a total of 13 players; 7 forwards, 4 defensemen, and 2 goalies.

Detroit Hitmen open camp on October 12, 2009 with a pre-season series against the Battle Creek Revolution. Detroit will host the Revolution on October 17 at the Great Lakes Sports City at 8:15pm.
