
First-Round Pick Matthew Strome Commits to Bulldogs

HAMILTON, ONT. - Hamilton Bulldogs head coach and general manager George Burnett confirmed today that first-round pick Matthew Strome has committed to the Bulldogs.
Strome was the 'Dogs first-ever draft pick, taken eighth overall in the 2015 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection.
"We're thrilled to announce that Matthew and his family have committed to the Bulldogs organization and the city of Hamilton," said Burnett. "Matthew will compliment our young core of returning forwards and we expect him to play a prominent role with our hockey club for many years."
The 6-3, 183-pound winger captained the Toronto Marlboros to an OHL Cup minor midget AAA title last season. In 64 games with the Marlboros, the Mississauga, Ont. native recorded 60 points (23 goals, 37 assists) and 36 penalty minutes. He is the younger brother of New York Islanders forward Ryan Strome and Arizona Coyotes prospect Dylan Strome.
