First Place Wave Take on Rival Comets Sunday Afternoon at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena

Milwaukee Wave News Release

After a big loss on Kansas City's unique blue turf last weekend, the 7-time champion Milwaukee Wave are looking to get back to their winning ways as they host the MASL Eastern Division rival Comets, on their legendary black turf, Sunday afternoon at 1:05pm from UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.

"We know it's going to be an intense game all they way through," said Head Coach Giuliano Oliviero. "We have to be ready to be at our best defensively and execute offensively."

The Wave came out strong last Saturday night against Kansas City, going toe to toe in the first half and then crumbling in the second half after an unfortunate injury to Comets defender James Togbah, who was sent to hospital with a very serious concussion. Togbah has since been treated and released from the hospital and his status for Sunday's game in unknown.

"I think we woke up a sleeping giant in Leo Gibson as well," added Oliviero. "He's been pretty quiet all season and we didn't do a great job of marking him last Saturday. We've got to make sure we are on point for the full 60 minutes on Sunday."
