
First-Ever "Tip-A-Riv" Dinner Scheduled for March 2

PEORIA, Ill. (February 6, 2009) - The Peoria Rivermen have announced their first ever "Tip-A-Riv" Dinner will be held on Monday, March 2 at Gracie's Chicago Style Grille in Washington. The Rivermen players will be transformed into the wait staff for the evening and all tips generated, as well as proceeds from the other events throughout the night, will be donated to the Children's Hospital of Illinois.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. with attendees and players mingling and bidding on silent auction items followed by the players serving dinner and a live auction. After dinner, fans will have the opportunity to sing karaoke and play Rock Band with their favorite players.
Tickets for this fun-filled evening are going fast and are limited. They are available at all Rivermen home games as well as by contacting Director of Community Relations Lisa Broadhurst at (309) 680-3762 or lbroadhurst@rivermen.net. A table, that seats six people, is available for just $270 while individual tickets are priced at $60 each or $100 per couple.
Each year, Children's Hospital of Illinois has over 5,000 admissions; 2,000 newborn deliveries, and 16,000 emergency department visits. It is the third largest pediatric hospital in Illinois and the only full service tertiary hospital for children in central Illinois. More information is available at www.childrenshospitalofill.org.
