Syracuse, NY (September 1, 2009) - The Syracuse Crunch held their first-ever season ticket holder barbeque tonight at the War Memorial at Oncenter. The event turned into a celebration when, earlier in the day, the Onondaga County Legislature voted 16-3 in favor of approving funding for a new War Memorial scoreboard.

Over 600 season ticket holders and corporate partners attended the event, which featured free food, beverages and floor hockey for kids. Crunch assistant coach Trent Cull and Oncenter President and CEO Terri Toennies were among the invited guests, as Crunch President and CEO Howard Dolgon addressed the crowd.

The Crunch open their 16th AHL season on Saturday, October 3 in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Syracuse opens up at home the following weekend when they face Adirondack on Saturday, October 10. Season tickets are now on sale and can be purchased by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473- 4444 or by stopping by the Crunch office in the War Memorial at Oncenter, located at 800 South State Street in downtown Syracuse.
