Mobile BayBears News Release
MOBILE, Ala. - On Friday night, the BayBears (Double-A Arizona Diamondbacks) return to Hank Aaron Stadium to battle the Mississippi Braves (Double-A Atlanta Braves) with a 7:05 first pitch followed by the highly-anticipated return of Friday Night Fireworks after the game.
Because of the recent drought conditions in Mobile, the BayBears have been unable to shoot post-game fireworks during their last several scheduled fireworks nights. That all changes this Friday, and fans that had tickets for the previously postponed fireworks shows will be able to redeem their tickets for Friday's contest against the M-Braves or any of the remaining Friday Night Fireworks games this season.
"We are very excited that the City of Mobile is allowing the BayBears to shoot fireworks again, starting this Friday night," said BayBears President/COO Bill Shanahan. "We sincerely hope all the fans that missed out on fireworks last week come back to the ballpark Friday for an outstanding display."
The BayBears will be hosting the Braves at "The Hank" through Monday night in a brief four-game set. Friday night's 7:05 start begins the series as the BayBears sit in first place to start the second half, ahead of the second-place Braves by two games.
Game two of the series will be on Saturday night at 7:05. Kids eat free at the ballpark on Saturdays as kids 12 and under receive a free hot dog and Pepsi with a box seat purchase. Former Atlanta Braves starter Kenshin Kawakami will be on the hill for the M-Braves against returning BayBear Tom Layne.
Sunday's contest will begin at 6:05 p.m. as kids will be allowed to play catch on the field before the game and run the bases after thanks to Lite Mix 99.9 FM. Braves righty Randall Delgado will make his third start since being sent back from Atlanta against BayBears hurler Wes Roemer.
Fans can earn a free box seat to Monday's series finale at 7:05 as Every Monday Matters at Hank Aaron Stadium. Fans will receive a free box seat by bringing a bag full of recyclable items, courtesy of Aker Solutions and ASM Recycling. It will be a battle of highly-ranked prospects on the mound as lefty Patrick Corbin will start for the BayBears against right-hander Arodys Vizcaino.
The BayBears are in action tonight against the Birmingham Barons with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch to play the finale of their four-game set in search of a sweep from Regions Park. They'll be back to "The Hank" on Friday night at 7:05 as the BayBears resume their Friday Night Fireworks shows for the season. For tickets, which start at $5 for kids and $7 for adults, please call (251) 479-BEAR or buy online/print at home at www.mobilebaybears.com.
