Fireworks, Skydivers Highlight Final Homestand

Worcester, MA -- The final homestand of the season at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field is jam-packed with fireworks shows, giveaways and even skydivers, as the Worcester Tornadoes wrap up the 2008 regular season at home in style.
The homestand begins on Tuesday, as the Tornadoes host the New Jersey Jackals for three games on Tuesday August 19, Wednesday, August 20 and Thursday, August 21, with all three games beginning at 7:05pm. Then, the Can-Am League's newest team, the Ottawa Rapidz, come to town for three-game weekend series.
Friday, August 22 will be "Back to School Night!" Get to the ballpark early to see the first-ever skydiving attempt in Tornadoes history on Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field! Three skydivers from Jumptown will deliver the first pitch ball and the first 1,000 kids through the gates will receive a free Tornadoes sling backpack, courtesy of the Mall at Whitney Field. Also, please help out Baby's Breath by donating a package of diapers to infants in need. In addition, Finz fro the Worcester Sharks will be in attendance and fans will have the chance to win Sharks tickets for the upcoming season all night long! Finally, don't forget to stick around after the game for a huge postgame Atlas fireworks show, presented by Price Chopper.
Saturday, August 23 will be "Fan Appreciation Night!" The Tornadoes salute YOU the fan on this special evening for you support and dedication to the team all season long. Show up early for all kinds of giveaways, including rally towels, t-shirts, team photos and even Peterman's tacky jackets! Plus, fans are in for a real treat because the spectacular July 3 fireworks show that was rained out will take place immediately following the game, courtesy of C.K. Smith! There will also be a huge surprise planned for one of the on-field contests...but you have to be at the ballpark to find out what it is!
The final home game of the 2008 regular season will take place on Sunday, August 24 and will feature the final Tykes Club Day of the season. Tykes Club members don't want to miss this one, as there will be a special pizza party with tons of Papa Gino's pizza! Then, after the game, Tykes Club members can run the bases one final time in 2008.
