Fireworks Added to Faith & Family Night
July 23, 2008 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Royals annual Faith and Family Night features popular Contemporary Christian singer Mark Schultz and now will also include fireworks. The fireworks show and concert follows the Royals' 7:05 p.m. game on Saturday, August 2nd at Rosenblatt Stadium vs. the Salt Lake Bees. Schultz, who won a Dove Award in 2006, is presented by Hy-Vee, Roberts Dairy, KGBI 100.7 FM and Cox Communications. The fireworks show is courtesy of Werner Enterprises.
The night will also feature a pre-game concert by local Christian artist Jared Bayless, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tickets for Faith and Family Night remain the same price as tickets for most of the Royals regular season home games: $10 for Field Box seats, $8 for Reserved seats and $6 for General Admission.
Schultz was nominated this year for a Dove Award as Male Vocalist of the Year. He has released four albums and has been nominated previously for numerous Dove Awards, winning his first at the 2006 Dove Awards when the CD/DVD Mark Schultz Live: A Night of Stories & Songs was named the Long Form Music Video of the Year.
Schultz' hit, "Back in His Arms Again" was named BMI's Christian Song of the Year in 2003. "I Am the Way" was cited as the Christian Song of the Year by American Songwriter magazine in 2001. Schultz has had seven chart-topping songs to his credit and has also found success on mainstream radio, scoring an AC hit with "He's My Son." Schultz grew up in Colby, Kansas and graduated from Kansas State University, before moving to Nashville in 1994. His first record was released in 2000.
"With the addition of the fireworks show on Faith and Family Night, we have put together a tremendous night of entertainment, baseball and fun," said Eric Leach, Royals Assistant G.M./Ticket Operations. "Not to mention it's a great value, considering ticket prices are available at the same low rate that fans would normally pay for a home game without concerts."
For tickets, call the Royals ticket office at (402) 738-5100, or order and print tickets online at www.oroyals.com and at www.Etix.com. For details on the group ticket rate, call (402) 738-5105.
