Memphis, Tenn. - Memphis shutout Portland 1-0 Wednesday night at AutoZone Park with four Redbirds pitchers combining for the team's fourth shutout.

Starter Mike Parisi was solid in six innings for the ‘Birds to pick up the victory. The right-hander scattered seven hits with two walks and two strikeouts before giving way to the bullpen. Jason Motte danced around trouble in his lone inning and needed Brian Barton to throw out Craig Stansberry at the plate to end the seventh inning. Portland manager Randy Ready was ejected arguing the call at home plate. Mark Worrell earned his fifth save of the season despite allowing a pair of base runners in the ninth inning.

David Freese knocked in the game's lone run with a single in the second inning to score Josh Phelps. Vincent Sinisi led the Beavers going 3-for-4. Portland starter Justin Germano was the tough-luck loser giving up one run on five hits with six strikeouts across six innings of work.

Memphis sends P.J. Walters to the hill tomorrow night with the Beavers yet to name a starter. First pitch is slated for 7:05 p.m.
