ABOUT LAST GAME: Joe Cavallaro was indominable on Wednesday against Lexington. The right-hander hurled six scoreless innings, struck out seven, did not walk any batters and led Columbia to a 4-0 victory. In the process, Cavallaro posted his eighth quality start (6 or more IP, 3 or fewer ER) in 10 starts. The Venice, Florida, native's ERA now sits at an impressive 2.06. Cavallaro also picked up his league-best seventh win of the season.

WHAT'S AT STAKE: If Columbia wins the series finale vs. Lexington on Thursday, the club will split the four-game set with the Royals affiliate. The Fireflies would then need just one win against Hagerstown over the weekend to clinch an above-.500 first half of the season.

0 0 0: Columbia picked up its third shut-out win of the season and the second in four days. Carlos Hernandez (2 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 3 K) and Stephen Villines (1 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 2 K) were also superb out of the bullpen.

#NOWALKS: For the second time in four days, Columbia's pitchers did not walk a batter in a game. It happened on Wednesday vs. Lexington (Cavallaro, Hernandez, Villines) and then Sunday vs. Augusta (Chris Viall, Yeizo Campos). Fireflies pitchers have walked one or fewer batters in six of the last 10 games.

#NOWALKS, Pt. II: In fact, over those last 10 games, Columbia pitchers have walked just 15 total batters.

REINFORCEMENTS: Columbia's bullpen has been extremely reliable over the last six games:

- 14.1 IP, 8 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 11 K (0.64 ERA)

Trey Cobb owns the longest active scoreless streak on the mound among Fireflies relievers (8 IP).

SPEAKING OF TREY...: The South Atlantic League announced Fireflies reliever Trey Cobb has been added to the Southern Division All-Star roster. Cobb becomes the fifth Firefly named an all-star in 2018 (although, only four of the five will be in Greensboro, NC, for the game after David Peterson's promotion to the Advanced-A St. Lucie Mets). Cobb has saved a team-best seven games and owns a stellar 2.06 ERA in 20 games out of the bullpen. The Oklahoma native was drafted by the Mets in the eighth round out of Oklahoma State in 2017.
