North Augusta, SC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of San Francisco Giants, lost 6-3 on Thursday night to the West Virginia Power.

In the first inning, the Power had taken an early 1-0 lead. Nick Hill would have an answer as he reached base after being hit by a pitch. He then stole second base to get into scoring position. After two separate passed balls, Hill would advance home to tie the ball game.

Lead by a Rodolfo Castro three-run home run in the fourth inning, the Power would go on to score four runs. In the bottom of the inning, Jeffry Parra would hit his fourth home run of the season to then bring the score to 5-2.

Even after a Heliot Ramos double scored Aaron Bond in the bottom of the seventh inning, the GreenJackets could not complete the comeback. In the end, they would drop the finale 6-3.

On the mound for the GreenJackets, Franklin Van Gurp was once again dominate out of the bullpen. He pitched three innings, giving up only two hits and no runs.

The GreenJackets will now head to Asheville for a three game series. First pitch tomorrow is at 7:05 pm against the Tourists.
