LAST TIME OUT: Columbia dropped Monday's tilt to Hagerstown, 7-0. Infielder Hansel Moreno tallied two of the Fireflies' three doubles. Edgardo Fermin also ripped a two-bagger.

WHAT'S AT STAKE?: Columbia must win on Tuesday afternoon to win the series. The Fireflies took the first two games of the set before the Suns stormed back on Monday night. This would be Columbia's first series win since winning two of three from Hagerstown from July 11-13.

IMPROVEMENT: Hansel Moreno was hitting .177 just 24 games into the season. Since June 8, Moreno is hitting .288 (52 games). That's the best average during that span among current Fireflies (and 8th-best in the SAL).

XBH: Fifteen of Columbia's 28 hits in the first three games of the series against Hagerstown have been extra-base hits.

BACK, BACK, BACK...CAUGHT: For the first time in nine days, Columbia did not hit a home run. The franchise-record streak of six straight games with a homer (August 12-19) was snapped on Monday night.

BACK, BACK, BACK...GONE!: Columbia has blasted 16 homers over its last 13 games. The Fireflies have 17 in the month of August (17 games). That's second only to Asheville (19 in 18 August games).

WINAKER'S RAMPAGE: The Alamo, California, native went deep in consecutive games (Thurs. @ WV, Sat. @ HAG) for the first time this season and followed that up with a two-run double on Sunday. Winaker has now drilled six homers over his last 13 games. He leads the team with 12 long balls and is one away from tying the franchise mark of 13 set by Dash Winningham and Brandon Brosher in 2017. Check out what Winaker has done this month:

- Winaker in August: .328 (17 GP), 10 R, 6 2B, 6 HR, 17 RBI, .411 OBP

ON THIS DATE: One year ago today, the Columbia Fireflies played a baseball game during the first trans-continental solar eclipse in 99 years. The game between Columbia and Rome was delayed for 19 minutes as players, coaches, umpires and nearly 10,000 marveled at the cosmic phenomenon. The Fireflies won the game in walk-off fashion, too.
