[FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.] – The Cape Fear FireAntz of the South East Hockey League (SEHL) announced today that the club has waived defenseman Ben Kwon. Rob Vessio has been added to the roster to take the place of Kwon.

Kwon, a 5'10" 190 pound defenseman, from Vienna, Virginia, leaves Cape Fear with six points, a minus eleven, and four penalty minutes. Kwon was limited to 16 games played for the FireAntz after suffering a fractured orbital bone during the season.

The FireAntz have added defenseman Rob Vessio to take the place of Kwon on the roster. Vessio, a 6'2" 200 pound forward from Pickering, Ontario played this season with the Lubbock Cotton Kings of the Central Hockey League (CHL). Vessio had 1 point and 48 penalty minutes in 38 games played.

FireAntz Coach Rex said of Vessio, "He's a stay at home defenseman that adds much needed size to our blue line."

Before entering the professional level, Vessio played at R.I.T. (NCAA Division III) from 1998/99-2001/02. At R.I.T., he teamed up with FireAntz David Bagley and Mike Bournazakis.

The Cape Fear FireAntz play host to the Winston-Salem T-Birds this Friday, January 30th. Game time is 7:35 pm and great seats are still available.
