FireAntz Waive Bodnar

[FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.] – The Cape Fear FireAntz of the South East Hockey League (SEHL) announced today that the club has waived forward Chris Bodnar. Mike Bournazakis has been added to the roster to take the place of Bodnar.

Bodnar, a 5'10" 190 pound forward, from Thunder Bay, Ontario, was the current leader in scoring for the FireAntz. Bodnar leaves the FireAntz with 22 points, a minus 5, and 12 penalty minutes in 26 games played for Cape Fear this season.

The FireAntz have added forward Mike Bournazakis to take the place of Bodnar on the roster. Bournazakis, a 5'10" 212 pound forward from Toronto, Ontario played this season with the Amarillo Gorillas, the Lubbock Cotton Kings, and the Oklahoma City Blazers of the Central Hockey League (CHL). With the three clubs, Bournazakis had 7 points and 4 penalty minutes in 25 games played. Before entering the professional level, Bournazakis played at R.I.T. (NCAA Division III) from 1999/00-2002/03. At R.I.T., he teamed up with former FireAntz David Bagley.

"Mike is a proven goal scorer, who comes from a highly recommended college program". Head Coach Scott Rex added, "He teamed up with David Bagley the last couple of years and we all know the contribution that Bagley brought to this program."

The FireAntz play host to the Huntsville Channel Cats this Friday, January 16th. Great seats are still available.
