FireAntz take the road shorthanded

[FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.] - The Fayetteville FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL), after an impressive 5-2 victory at home against Jacksonville last night, travel to Knoxville to take on the Ice Bears down four skaters tonight.

Forward Bryan Dobek was recalled by the Gwinnett Gladiators of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL.) Dobek, who was in Gwinnett and was among the last to be released from their training camp. In seven games with the FireAntz, Dobek tallied six goals, and four assists for 10 points.

Defenseman Rob Meanchoff and forward Patrick Levesque are both out with undisclosed injuries and remain day-to-day.

Forward Chris Ferguson, who yesterday signed a 5-game tryout, did not make the trip for personal reasons.

The FireAntz next home game is Thursday, November 16th at 7:35 pm as they play host to the Jacksonville Barracudas on "College Night", brought to you by Fayetteville State University. Following that, on November 18th the FireAntz host the first of two "Military Appreciation Nights." FireAntz bullhorns, courtesy of Julie Stamper and Barbara Shoenberger of Keller Williams Realty, will be given away to the first 2,000 fans in attendance.
