
FireAntz sign forwards Lira and Roach

[FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.] - The Fayetteville FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced today that the club has signed forwards Marc Lira and Jordan Roach. Per club policy, financial terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
Lira, a 5'8'', 175-pound Canadian centerman joins the club for his first season with the FireAntz. Last season with HC Reims of France's top division had 33 points (17 goals and 16 assists) in 25 games played.
"Marc is a gifted centerman that I expect to play in between (Rob) Sich and (Justin) Keller." Head Coach Tommy Stewart said, "With his playmaking ability and pass-first mentality, he will be a great fit on our top line."
Roach, a 6'3'', 225-pound forward from North Battlesford, Saskatchewan also will be making his first appearance with the FireAntz this season. The well-traveled winger is expected to add a physical presence to the club.
"Jordan is going to fill the 'enforcer' role on our hockey club this season." Stewart added, "He is going to definitely provide some extra space for some our very talented hockey players."
The FireAntz kick off the 2008-09 season in October. Their home-opener is on October 31st at 7:35 pm at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville. Season tickets and corporate partnerships are still available. Call the FireAntz office at 910-321-0123 for more information.
