[FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.] - The Fayetteville FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) clinched a berth in the SPHL playoffs on Saturday with a win against the Twin City Cyclones. The team is currently in third place. The top six teams in the league qualify for the playoffs.

The playoff format in the SPHL remains the same as last year. The first seed takes on the sixth seed in a best-of-five series with the winner getting a bye to the finals. The second seed takes on the fifth seed and the third seed plays the fourth seed, both in best-of-three series. The winners play each other in a best-of-three series and play the winner of the first and sixth place series in a best-of-five matchup for the championship.

The FireAntz have four regular season home games remaining, including two at home. Friday, March 21st and Saturday, March 22nd is the final homestand of the regular season.
