Senft Repeats as Sher-Wood SPHL Player of the Week

March 10, 2008 - Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) - Richmond Renegades News Release

For the second time Richmond Renegades goalie RYAN SENFT has been selected as the Sher-Wood SPHL Player of the Week for the week ending March 8, 2008. The Renegades goalie was extremely impressive in nets as the Renegades won both games on the road in Jacksonville. Senft won 4-3 in regulation on Friday night after being down 2-0. It was only the fourth defeat in regulation this season on home ice for the Barracudas. On Saturday he backstopped the Renegades to a 2-1 shootout win stoning all Jacksonville shooters. No team has won back to back games in Jacksonville this season.

For the week Senft had a goals against average (GAA) of 1.92 and a very hard earned save percentage of .949. Senft was honored as the Sher-Wood Player of the Week in January and followed that up with being named as the Sher-Wood Player of the Month for January.

The Renegades have a busy weekend schedule this week facing league leading Knoxville at home on Friday night and go on the road against Twin City Saturday. The Renegades need just one more point to clinch a playoff spot.

Friday night the first 2,000 fans will receive the fifth and final set of player cards courtesy of Sine Irish Pub. It is also the 2nd Annual Hooters Wing Eating contest. To register for the contest go to your local Hooters restaurant. The Renegades will wear their green Sam's Club jerseys for the game on Friday night. The jerseys will be up for silent auction during the game at the merchandise stand. Jerseys will not be given to the auction winners until after the end of the playoffs but must be paid for Friday night.

Tickets, gift certificates, flex paks and sponsorships are available by calling the Renegades office at 804-644-PUCK (7825). Additional information is available online at the team website www.rrenegades.com.

The Renegades remind everyone that their playoff packages and 2008-08 season ticket packages are now on sale. Next season will feature 30 home games plus a pre-season exhibition.
