FireAntz re-sign Fournier and Kormanyos

[FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.] – The Fayetteville FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced today the re-signing of Captain Mike Fournier, and Nick Kormanyos. These are the first player signings of the off-season for 2005-2006.

Fournier, the 6'4" 220 pound Captain returns to the FireAntz for his fourth season. He holds team records in most games played with 109, second among defensemen in career points 36, assists 27, and third in career goals with 11. Fournier is also third in his career for penalty minutes with 312. Last season with the FireAntz Fournier had 17 points (5 goals, 12 assists), 139 penalty minutes and was +27, which ranked second on the team.

"Mike is a great asset to the FireAntz organization." Head Coach Derek Booth said, "He had a great season and his toughness will be heavily relied upon."

Mike Fournier said, "Fayetteville has become my second home and with Coach Booth re-signing I look forward to this upcoming season."

Kormanyos, a 5'9" 185 pound forward, returns for his second professional season with the FireAntz. In 46 games last season he tallied 11 goals, 12 assists for 23 points.

"Nick's hard working mentality will be great for the FireAntz." Head Coach Derek Booth said, "I expect more leadership out of him this upcoming season."
