[FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.] - The Fayetteville FireAntz of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) fell at the hands of the Florida Seals, 1-0, Tuesday night to bring to a conclusion the 2005-06 hockey season. Robert Sich scored with 37 seconds remaining to break the scoreless tie and give the Seals the victory.

Both goaltenders were stellar as Chad Collins turned aside 29 of 30 shots in the loss and Terry Denike stopped all 25 shots he faced. Collins only allowed four goals in the three games and had a 1.34 goals against average and a .961 save percentage.

The FireAntz outscored the Seals 9-4 in the series but lost the best-of-three series two games to one.

Florida moves on to take on the Huntsville Havoc who upset the defending champion Columbus Cottonmouths in three games. Neither team won a game on home ice in the series. The winner of the best-of-three series will take on the winner of the Knoxville/Pee Dee series in a best-of-five showdown for the President's Cup and the SPHL championship.
