CHICAGO FIRE JOIN MAYOR DALEY FOR BACK TO SCHOOL KICK OFF TOMORROW

Chicago Fire technical director Frank Klopas and Defender Daniel Woolard will join Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley for the Chicago Public School's (CPS) Back to School kickoff event tomorrow on Chicago's far South Side at the Marsh Elementary School (9810 S. Exchange Ave, Chicago).

The Chicago Fire is partnering with CPS to get kids throughout Chicago to attend the first day of school on Wednesday, September 8th. The partnership kicked off this past weekend when the Chicago Fire awarded a CPS school with supplies for the school year as part of the Bush's Beans Back to School Drive and launched a special text messaging campaign to public school students throughout Chicago to encourage them to attend the first day of school. The first 500 students who text the phrase "CPSGOFIRE" will be eligible to win tickets to the Chicago Fire match on September 20 against the 2008 MLS champs, Columbus Crew. Students will receive a bounce back message that states: Remember the first day of school is Tuesday, September 8, 2009. Remember to go on the first day and every day thereafter! Your future is your ticket. They will then be randomly selected to win Fire tickets. This text message offer will be available through Friday, September 4th. The Fire and CPS have partnered with Univision Radio in promoting this opportunity.
