Chicago Fire FC News Release

The Chicago Fire (2-3-3, 9 points) gear up for a busy stretch of matches with a mid-week clash against Paris Saint-Germain at TOYOTA PARK on Wednesday, May 19 at 7:00 PM to kick off the inaugural Chicago Sister Cities International Cup presented by Best Buy. Depending on the Fire's result against Les Parisiens, the club will face either Red Star Belgrade or Legia Warsaw who play the second match of the Wednesday double-header.

The Fire are 2-2-3 in international friendly matches held at TOYOTA PARK, dating back to the Fire's first international friendly, a 2-1 defeat to Club America, at the Fire's soccer-specific grounds on July 21, 2006.

This will be the first meeting between the Fire and Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain. The Fire defeated Polish club Legia Warsaw 3-2 on June 16, 1999 at Soldier Field. Former Legia players, Jerzy Podbrożny and Roman Kosecki, suited up for the "Men in Red" and helped the Fire defeat the Polish side in one of the Fire's earliest international friendlies.
