Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release
DUBUQUE, Iowa- The Dubuque Fighting Saints are taking their game across the world, and thanks to modern technology and a partnership with Dubuque's Super Hits 106, fans in the United States can follow the club every step of the way. The club announced today that all Dubuque games at the 2013 Junior Club World Cup in Omsk, Russia will be broadcast live in the Tri-State area on radio partner Dubuque's Super Hits 106.1 FM and streamed online at superhits106.com. The Voice of the Fighting Saints, Zack Fisch, will be traveling with the team overseas and will have the call of the games.
"The trip to Russia is an unbelievable opportunity for our organization, and we are committed to sharing that experience with our great fans," said Fisch. "Our hosts in Russia, the USHL, and our partners at Super Hits 106 were dedicated to being able to provide Fighting Saints fans a way to follow the team as we play some of the world's best."
Due to a drastic time change of 12 hours between Dubuque and Omsk, games in Russia will be played during the early hours of the morning in the United States. Fans that would like to listen at a more traditional time will be able to do so, as all broadcasts will be available on-demand shortly following the game at superhits106.com.
"This is such a great opportunity for the Dubuque Fighting Saints and it's exciting for us as well that the technology is available to be able to locally engineer and broadcast a game from literally the other side of the world," said Laura Lynn McElree, Program Director at Super Hits 106. "We are looking forward to being able to provide this coverage option for all the fans during the tournament."
Dubuque opens the tournament on Sunday, August 25 with a contest against HC Riga of Latvia at 2 a.m. Central Time.
