Fighting Saints Hope to Get Lucky Friday Night

DUBUQUE, Iowa-In the midst of a tight playoff race, the Dubuque Fighting Saints wouldn't mind having a little luck on their side. On Friday night, the Fighting Saints will go for the pot of gold on Irish Night presented by O'Toole Office Supply. The Fighting Saints host the Des Moines Buccaneers at 7:35 p.m. and fans are encouraged to wear green for a pre-St. Patrick's Day celebration.

Irish heritage and culture will be on full display Friday with a special performance from the Mayer School of Irish Dancing during the game's first intermission. The well-known school has branches all over the country, and dancers from the Tri-State area will take the ice to perform a traditional Irish dance for fans.

On Irish Night, fans can also look to race to the other side of the rainbow for the elusive pot of gold. The Fighting Saints will be holding a treasure hunt at Friday's game. A clue will be provided on the scoreboard to help fans get started, and then the race is on. Additional clues can be found as the search progresses and at the end of the night one lucky fan will walk away with the leprechaun's pot of gold.

Select fans will also have the chance to learn what their Irish name is during Friday's game. While Fighting Saints players Max McHugh and Seamus Malone already have the Irish sounding names down, other lads including Eric "O'Robinson" and Keegan "McFord" will take the ice for the Fighting Saints.

The evening will also feature Irish music, "Kiss Me, I'm A Saint," t-shirts at the merchandise stand, and great drinks flowing in the DB&T Pub, which has been renamed for this special night.

Friday is also a "Fun for $40" night perfect for families. Fans can score 4 Ice Box section tickets, 4 Chuck-A-Pucks, 2 Kids Zone Vouchers, and 2 Programs for only $40. There is a limit of eight tickets for this special package and the deal is pending availability.

The Fighting Saints have five home games remaining in the regular season and are in the midst of a playoff race in the USHL's tight Eastern Conference.
