Fighting Saints Announce Preseason Schedule

DUBUQUE, Iowa - With the October 1 start to the regular season fast approaching, Fighting Saints players and fans alike will have a chance to get in gear for the defense of the Clark Cup with two preseason games at home in September. In addition to the two dates at the Mystique Community Ice Center, the Fighting Saints will play five games away from the Mystique Community Ice Center, including three games at the USHL Fall Classic in Sioux City, Iowa.
The Fighting Saints preseason slate will begin on Friday, September 9 with a matchup against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in Dubuque. The two teams will meet once again the following night at the rink at Coral Ridge Mall in Iowa City (the home ice of the Iowa Hawkeyes) before seeing each other eight times over the course of the regular season. The following Friday, September 16, the Fighting Saints will welcome the Chicago Steel before the two teams play in Darien, IL (at the Darien Sportsplex) the next evening. Both Fighting Saints home games are scheduled to begin at 7:05.
For the fifth consecutive year, the entire USHL will convene in Sioux City for the Fall Classic from Wednesday, September 21, to Saturday, September 24. Due to both college and professional interest in USHL players, the event has become among the most closely scouted in all of hockey. The Fighting Saints will play three games in Sioux City, meeting the Omaha Lancers at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, the Tri City Storm at 10 a.m. on Thursday, and the Muskegon Lumberjacks at 4 p.m. on Friday.
