Fighting Falcons Return to Home Ice to Take on Soo Eagles

March 14, 2013 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Port Huron Fighting Falcons News Release

PORT HURON, MI - The Port Huron Fighting Falcons will return to home ice after over a month of road games when they take on the first-place Soo Eagles this Friday and Saturday night at McMorran Arena. The Fighting Falcons last skated in front of their home crowd February 13, when they defeated the Michigan Warriors. The team has gone 2-2-1 on the road since then.

This weekend's matchup is extremely important as the Fighting Falcons battle for playoff position in the North Division. Port Huron currently sits fifth in the division, with the top six teams earning a playoff spot. The Fighting Falcons are two points ahead of sixth-place Springfield, and four points ahead of seventh-place Janesville.

The Fighting Falcons will wear special green St. Patrick's Day jerseys at each of this weekend's games. The jerseys will be auctioned off throughout the weekend, including a live auction of three jerseys following Saturday night's game. The opening bid for these one-of-a-kind jerseys has been set at just $100. The team will skate with fans and sign autographs after the conclusion of Saturday's jersey auction.

SEMCO Energy employees will play broomball during the first intermission Saturday, as the company has purchased 800 tickets for an employee appreciation event.

A bake sale to benefit the CURED Foundation will take place during Saturday's game. The CURED Foundation benefits those suffering from Eosinophilic Disorder (EOS). Two-year-old Jayse Rowe of Port Huron suffers from EOS, and over 200 fans have purchased tickets to Saturday night's game through a fundraising effort on his behalf.

Ticket packages for the 2013-14 season will be available throughout the weekend. The first 25 fans to pay in full for two or more full-season ticket packages will get a free game-worn jersey.

For more information about this weekend's games, season ticket sales, or to place a bid in the jersey auction, contact the Fighting Falcons office at (810) 966-3800.
