The Soo Eagles will travel to Port Huron this Friday and Saturday night, for their final regular-season road trip of the season. Face-off is at 7 p.m. both nights at McMorran Arena. You can catch all the action at fasthockey.com
The Eagles currently are in first-place in the North Division, with 80 points, and lead Jamestown by eight points, and Kalamazoo by nine, with six games remaining for all three teams.
The Eagles could clinch first place two victories and an overtime loss in their final six games, no matter what the teams chasing them do. The Eagles put themselves in ideal position for first-place, a No. 1 seed, and a first-round playoff bye, and have their final four games at Pullar Stadium, where they are 20-4-2 this season.

Eagles sweep Jets, closer to clinching first The Soo Eagles swept a series against the Janesville Jets last weekend at Pullar Stadium, to extend their lead in the NAHL's North Division.
Here is a recap of last weekend's action.
Soo Eagles 2, Janesville Jets 0 - March 9, 2013
Tyler Marble was superb between the pipes for the Soo Eagles, as he did not allow a goal in a 2-0 victory over the Janesville Jets. The Eagles maintain their eight point lead in the North American Hockey League's North Division, over the Jamestown Ironmen, with six games to play. The Eagles need three victories to clinch first, or a couple victories and a Jamestown loss. The Soo was led by Mike Sabatini, who tallied one goal. Sabatini scored 6:40 into the third period to make the score 1-0. Matt Menta provided the assist. The Eagles also got a goal from Jared VanWormer. More assists for Soo came via Alex Robert, Sean Murphy, and Eric Rivard, who each chipped in one. Janesville was led by Jason Ford, who took three shots. Marble recorded 26 saves for Soo. The Eagles incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities. Brock Kautz made 43 saves for the Jets on 45 shots. Soo Eagles 6, Janesville Jets 1 - March 9, 2013
The Soo Eagles relied on the sparkling performance of Tyler Marble in net to grab a 6-1 win against the Janesville Jets. With the victory, the Eagles extend their lead in the North American Hockey League's North Division to seven points over Kalamazoo, and eight points over Jamestown. With seven games to play, the Eagles need seven points in those games, to clinch first, no matter what the other teams do. Janesville's power play was ineffective against Soo's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. The Eagles were led by Robin Hoglund, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Hoglund scored 11:36 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Soo. The Soo also got points from Pat Thompson, who also had one goal and one assist, Brandon Adams, who also registered two goals and one assist to lead the team in points, Mike Sabatini, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Matt Menta, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, Soo received assists from Kyle Froese, Sean Murphy, Jared VanWormer, and Michael Crowley, who contributed one a piece. The Jets kept the Eagles' goalie busy throughout the game, and Marble made 35 saves on 36 shots. Janesville was led by Kucerovy, who scored the team's only goal. Kucerovy scored on the power play 18:54 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Soo. The Jets earned a power play opportunity when JD Cotroneo was put in the box for interference. Jason Ford picked up the assist. The Eagles incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Eagles eye first place in first NAHL season By Randy Russon - Miki Media
Soo Eagles have shrugged off a sluggish start to become a soaring success in their debut season in the North American Hockey League.
Formerly of the Northern Ontario Jr. Hockey League, the Eagles started the 2012-2013 NAHL season with a 0-3-1 record at the league's Showcase Tournament.
But the Eagles have flown high.
Since their Showcase swoon, the NAHL North Division-leading Eagles have posted a record of 38-9-3 and with an overall mark of 38-12-4 are eight points up on the second-place Jamestown Ironmen with six games to play in the 2012-2013 regular season.

The Soo Eagles are proud to announce the try-out camp schedule for the 2013-2014 North American Hockey League season. The first camp will be held May 17-19 at the Big Bear Arena, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. There will also be try-out camps in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on May 31 - June 2 and Farmington Hills, MI on June 21 - 23. Additional camps for the 2013-14 NAHL season, will be announced soon.
The Eagles are committed to find those players who have a passion for hockey and wish to pursue the highest level of hockey possible. We are looking for players who place a premium on character on and off the ice. The Eagles have the finest Billet and Education coordinator along with Coach Bruno Bragagnolo, who has compiled a 127-39-12 record in three years in SSM including a NOJHL Championship in 2010/11. Coach Bragagnolo has moved several players to higher levels and has a network of college coaches he is in contact with throughout the year. The Soo Eagles are anticipating several openings for their roster next year. The Eagles camps are designed so players can show the coaches and scouts their respective skills. There will be at least three games guaranteed and then a chance to be selected for the Sunday All-star game. The Eagles will have their main camp in August for those boys who would be invited back. With the NAHL draft on June 3rd, this is a wonderful opportunity to show the staff your skill level prior to the draft.
All players will get three full games. All Soo Eagles coaching and scouting staff will be in attendance to closely watch all players. The cost of the camp for players born 1993-1997 is $250.00 USD. Preferred method of payment is Pay Pal, but checks and cash will be accepted (follow instructions after submitting form). Refunds will be available, up to 30 days before the start of camp.

As the boys get ready for the last month of an exciting season, and before they start the playoffs, the Soo Eagles ownership and staff want to let fans and parents know, that they will be hosting their "Parents Weekend" on March 22-23, when the Eagles will face the Springfield Jr. Blues, at Pullar Stadium. Friday, March 22 is Sault High night, as the Eagles will honor the Blue Devil hockey team, who was state runner-up this season, and the students of Sault Area high school. One exciting feature next weekend, will be an auction for the military jerseys (as seen is the picture above) that will be worn to recognize our local military veterans. This auction will take place after Saturday's game, and if you are unable to make it to the Pullar, there will be on line bidding available. There will also be a meet and greet at the Pullar before one of the games. Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario Elementary School Weekend will be on March 29-30, when the Eagles close the regular season against the Janesville Jets.
