Frisco Fighters News Release

FRISCO, Texas - The Frisco Fighters are excited to announce a partnership with Celina High School  which will allow the Fighters to train in a state-of-the-art facility during the 2021 season.

Team president Stephen Evans and head coach Clint Dolezel considered many of the leading high school athletic programs in the area, and Celina High School was a prime target. They met with Celina head coach and athletic director Bill Elliott and assistant athletic director Kyle Sheridan to finalize the deal.

"I don't think there's anybody in the league that will have what we have facility-wise," said Clint Dolezel. "Their assistant AD Kyle [Sheridan] has been great to us - they couldn't have been more cordial and accommodating. We have our own locker room, so we won't have to travel as much, we can film practice, and we can train there. The practice facility is unbelievable; it's inside/outside. There are D1 colleges that don't have facilities like this, so we're ecstatic."

The Fighters will share the all-encompassing facilities with Celina High School athletes, with both benefiting from the relationship. The $24.5 million facility opened in 2019.

"We're excited to share our incredible facilities with a professional organization like the Frisco Fighters," said coach Bill Elliott. "Hopefully this partnership can help inspire our athletes to work hard and strive for bigger and better things on and off the field."

Celina has one of the state's most successful football programs, having won eight state championships, placing the Bobcats second all-time in Texas 11-man football history.

The Frisco Fighters kick off their 2021 inaugural season on Saturday, May 15, when they travel to Spokane, WA, to take on the Spokane Shock. The Fighters open their home schedule on Saturday, June 5, at Comerica Center in Frisco against the Louisville Xtreme.
