Week Three: Players of the Week

FRISCO, Texas - The Indoor Football league announced it week three Players of the Week with two players from the Green Bay Blizzard and one from the Massachusetts Pirates earning nods for their performances. The Blizzard took down the Louisville Xtreme, 40-29, while the Pirates handled business on the road with win over the Bismarck Bucks, 36-18.

THOMAS OWENS - OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Earning his first nod at Offensive Player of the Week, wide receiver Thomas Owens carried the load for the wideouts catching half of the total passes completed on Saturday. Owens had eight catches for a season high 105 yards and one touchdown. Owens lone touchdown came on a 7-yard pass five seconds into the second quarter.

MALIK REAVES - DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Defensive back Malik Reaves was all over the field for the Blizzard against the Louisville Xtreme on Friday. Reaves led the team with seven total tackles and came up with an interception early in the fourth. Reaves also returned a blocked PAT in for two points with 1:20 remaining in the third quarter.

TREVON SAUNDERS - SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Now his second Special Teams Player of the Week award this season, Trevon Saunders to the bulk of the kickoff returns for Green Bay with four for a total 96 yards. Saunders' longest was 42 yards, which came in the third quarter with 2:23 left.

Reaves, Saunders and the Blizzard will travel to face the Bucks on Saturday, May 15, at 6:06 p.m. CT inside the Bismarck Event Center, while Owens and the Pirates will enter their first BYE week this season.
