Fighters Re-Sign Defensive Back J'Vontez "Snoop" Blackmon
January 7, 2022 - Indoor Football League (IFL) - Frisco Fighters News Release
FRISCO TX - The Frisco Fighters and Head Coach Billy Back announced today the re-signing of defensive back J'Vontez "Snoop" Blackmon along with four additional defensive backs to the 2022 roster. Blackmon (6'0", 200 lbs.) played college ball at the University of Tennessee-Martin and was sidelined last season for the Fighters with an injury.
"I felt getting a veteran leader back like J'Vontez in the secondary was vital for our communication," stated Coach Back. "His season was shut down before it began last year so I'm looking forward to seeing him get back out there and do what he does best."
In addition to re-signing Blackmon, the Fighters also added the following to its defensive core:
- DB- Nate Gaines (6'2", 220 lbs. - UT San Antonio)
- DB- Malik Brown (6'1", 185 lbs. - Henderson State)
- DB- Lashard Durr (5'11", 195 lbs. - Mississippi State)
- DB- Britto Tutt (6'1", 176 lbs. - Arkansas)
The Frisco Fighters kick off their 2022 season on the road against the reigning Champion Massachusetts Pirates on March 12 with a 6:05 PM kickoff.
