FIFA World Cup 2026 Host Cities to be Announced on June 16

FIFA will make a major announcement related to the staging of the FIFA World Cup 2026 across Canada, Mexico and the United States during a live broadcast event from New York City starting at 4 p.m. CT on Thursday, June 16.

The broadcast event will be shown at KC Live! in the Kansas City Power & Light District, which will be open to the public from 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 16. KC Live! and the Kansas City Power & Light District restaurants will have food and drink options available for purchase. All attendees will need to exit the KC Live! area by 5:30 p.m. before entry to Hot Country Nights begins at 6 p.m.

Missouri Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe, Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas, KC2026 Bid Director Katherine Holland and members of the KC2026 Executive Committee will speak following the conclusion of the live broadcast. In addition, FIFA will hold a media activity in New York City which is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CT and will be streamed live on FIFA.com.

Kansas City is one of 22 candidate host cities currently vying for the right to stage matches for the 48-team tournament along with Atlanta, Boston, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Edmonton, Guadalajara, Houston, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Miami, Monterrey, Nashville, New York/New Jersey, Orlando, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, Vancouver and Washington DC/Baltimore.
