Fiesta de Las Flores revised

EL PASO- Cohen stadium is proud to announce that they have entered into a new agreement to host the LULAC Council 132 Annual "Fiesta de Las Flores" festival Labor Day weekend.

"This is an exiting venture for Cohen Stadium," said Diablos General Manager Matt LaBranche. "Fiesta de Las Flores is an El Paso staple and has been a tradition for many years. We are honored to play a part in the Festival."

Together with LULAC Council 132, Cohen Stadium has agreed to host the Festival September August 31 thru September 3, 2007.

Now in its 55th year, Fiesta de Las Flores has been an El Paso tradition since 1952. "We are both thankful and grateful with the Coliseum and the County Commissioners Court for hosting the Fiesta the last several years" Homer Reza, Council 132 Vice President and Fiesta Chair said. "However, Cohen Stadium presented new opportunities that would enable us to have a better Fiesta. Ample parking for our patron's was a big factor in moving to Cohen Stadium" Mr. Reza added. The Fiesta is a celebration of the Hispanic culture and has played host to a number of big acts. Besides the four day concert series it also features the Fiesta de Las Flores Beauty Pageant, Golf Tournament, Fiesta Parade and the World Championship Huacha Tournament.

Fiesta de Las Flores is also known for its large scholarship program. Because of the Fiesta, LULAC Council 132 has awarded over one million dollars in scholarships to students throughout the El Paso Region.
