Calgary Hitmen News Release
Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen welcomed the Prince Albert Raiders to the Scotiabank Saddledome for their second meeting of the season. It was a bit of déjà vu with Calgary scoring six goals against Prince Albert for the second time in a week.
Riley Fiddler-Schultz had a career high and record setting night scoring five of the six Calgary goals. Prince Albert was first to strike with a power play goal that was closely followed up by one from Calgary on the power play for Fiddler-Schultz's first of the game. With the assist on the Calgary goal, Sean Tschigerl reached 100 career points and would go on to add two more assists throughout the game.
Fiddler-Schultz then went on to score three more in the first period, tying the Calgary Hitmen record for most goals in a period. Grayden Siepmann was able to add the scoring party with a shorthanded goal in the second period. Fiddler-Schultz added his fifth and final in the third, tying the franchise record for most goals in a game. The record was previously set by Pavel Brendl on November, 11th 2000.
Prince Albert added a late goal to cut the lead to four, but Calgary was able to secure the 6-2 win.
It was a three star sweep for the line of Fiddler-Schultz, Sean Tschigerl and Zac Funk with both forwards adding to Fiddler-Schultz performance with three assists a piece. Calgary outshot Prince Albert 46-31.
Calgary now heads to Edmonton on Friday, Oct. 28 for the first 'Battle of Alberta' this season. It's then back in the 'Dome on Sunday, Oct. 30 for a 2:00 p.m. start against the Vancouver Giants for another Sunday Funday, presented by Brookfield Residential. In addition to $2 sips and snacks specials all game long, look for concourse activities from TELUS Spark, and a cast of characters outfitted by the Costume Shoppe.
