Brooklyn, NY - The Connecticut Tigers (22-28) defeated the Brooklyn Cyclones (24-25) by a score of 7-3 Thursday night at MCU Park. The Tigers bats came to life as the team combined for 14 hits. 2B Dominic Ficociello (2-5) and 1B Pat Leyland (2-5) each had a pair of RBI's.

Coming into the game the Tigers bats were struggling with runners on base. Tonight was a different story as the team went 7-18 with runners in scoring position and left a total of eight on base. LF Kasey Coffman (3-5) added three hits including a double and one run scored.

Tigers starter LHP Alex Phillips (3-1) pitched five innings allowing three runs on eight hits. It was the relief pitching that held the Cyclones offense to only two hits over the final four innings. RHP Julio Felix pitched three scoreless innings. RHP Will LaMarche pitched one scoreless inning

Cyclones got contributions from LF Patrick Biondi (2-3) who picked up a pair hits including a double and two runs scored. 2B L.J. Mazzilli (1-4) added a pair of RBI's.

The Tigers and the Auburn Doubledays begin a three-game series in Auburn, NY tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. Tigers send out RHP Buck Farmer (0-1, 3.60).
