Indiana Fever News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Fever has waived forward Linda Fröhlich, and announced a trade with the Sacramento Monarchs to acquire draft rights to rookie forward Jessica Dickson. In exchange for Dickson, a 5-11 forward from the University of South Florida, the Monarchs will receive a third-round draft pick in 2008.

Fröhlich completed one season in Indiana, contributing 3.3 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. She participated in 20 games last season. She signed a free agent contract with Indiana last season, after a pair of summers with the New York Liberty, in 2002 and 2003. Fröhlich has been known as the best female player from her native Germany.

Acknowledged as one of the top college wing players in the country last year, Dickson will join the Fever when it begins training camp April 22. She averaged 19.7 points and 7.3 rebounds while at USF last season, and became South Florida's all-time scoring champion for men and women (2,321 points). She was a First Team All-Big East selection as a junior and senior, and she finished her junior campaign with a school-record 22.0 points per game, which was third in the nation.

The Fever hosts a preseason opener on May 5 against the Seattle Storm (6:00 p.m.), and welcomes 2006 Rookie of the Year Seimone Augustus and the Minnesota Lynx to open the regular season, May 19 (7:00 p.m.). Single-game tickets for all Fever home games may be purchased at the Conseco Fieldhouse Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations or FeverBasketball.com. For season ticket information, call (317) 917-2500.
