Indiana Fever News Release

The Indiana Fever (5-11) will travel to take on the Minnesota Lynx on Wednesday night for the second matchup between the two teams this season, with tip set for 8 p.m. ET at Target Center.

Indiana enters Wednesday looking to halt a four-game losing skid with a win against Minnesota. On June 9, the Fever prevailed against the Lynx, 71-69, in a close game that featured 12 lead changes and was tied on 13 different occasions. Four Fever players ended the night scoring in double figures, highlighted by All-Star Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell's team-high 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the floor and 3-of-6 from behind the three-point arc.

Fever forward NaLyssa Smith and rookie center Aliyah Boston were solid on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court as they both notched double-doubles. The All-Star starter Boston recorded 10 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals, while Smith contributed 12 points, 12 rebounds and two assists. Smith and Boston combined to pull down 23 of Indiana's 34 rebounds on the night.

With the help of the consistent rebounding this season, Indiana ranks third in the league in rebounding, averaging 36.3 rebounds per game, while Minnesota ranks close behind in fifth averaging 35.4 rebounds per game.

For Minnesota, Napheesa Collier led all scorers in the first matchup against the Fever as she poured in 28 points and 14 rebounds. Kayla McBride offered her support as she pitched in 11 points.

Indiana has been led in scoring all season by Mitchell who averages 17.6 points per game. She is followed closely behind by Smith in scoring, who is averaging a double-double with 15.2 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. Smith ranks third in the league in rebounding as one of three players averaging at least 10 rebounds a game.

Mitchell also enters Wednesday's matchup with 499 career assists, good for fourth all-time in franchise history.

Boston, who was recently announced as an All-Star starter, has continued to record standout performances this season. She has consistently led the league in field goal percentage averaging 61.8 percent (94-of-152) from the floor. Boston has resided over all 2023 rookies this season, ranking first in scoring average (14.6 ppg), rebounds (8.4 rpg) and blocks (1.4 bpg).

The Lynx enter Wednesday on a three-game winning streak following two victories against Seattle and one win against Phoenix. Collier leads the team in scoring averaging 22.0 points per contest, good for third in the WNBA. She also ranks in the top ten in the league in rebounding averaging 7.8 rebounds per game. After missing eight games due to injury, the No. 2 pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft, Diamond Miller, follows Collier in the scoring column averaging 14.2 points per game.
