LAS VEGAS - The WNBA today announced that Las Vegas Aces Head Coach Becky Hammon and forward/center A'ja Wilson earned WNBA Coach of the Month and Western Conference Player of the Month honors, respectively, for leading the Aces to a league-best 10-1 record in June 2023.
The WNBA Western Conference Player of the Week for the week ending June 25, Wilson averaged 19.5 points (5th in the W over that time), 8.9 rebounds (8th) and 2.2 blocks (1st) over the 11-game span, while making 53.4% of her field goal attempts and recording an offensive efficiency rating of 114.6 (5th among players who saw action in more than 2 games in June).
In addition to the 10-1 record, Hammon's Aces posted league-bests for scoring (91.9 ppg), field goal percentage (.507), offensive efficiency rating (114.1), net rating (15.8), assist-to-turnover ratio (1.89), effective field goal percentage (.567) and fewest turnovers (11.9).
This is Hammon's second WNBA Coach of the Month award after the eventual 2022 WNBA Coach of the Year garnered it in May, 2022.
The reigning WNBA M'VP, Wilson has previously been tabbed the Western Conference Player of the Month five times (July 2022, May 2022, June 2021, September 2020 and August 2020).
