Indiana Fever News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - When the Indiana Fever host Inspiring Women Night presented by Elements Financial on Wednesday night, Aug. 26, four high-achieving women in sports will take center stage prior to the Fever battling the Los Angeles Sparks.

Tipoff for the game is 7:00 p.m. A pregame reception and panel discussion with Inspiring Women Night honorees begins at 5:45 p.m. Honorees, who will also be introduced at halftime, include NHRA Funny Car racer Courtney Force, Indianapolis Colts vice chair and owner Carlie Irsay-Gordon, NBA referee Lauren Holtkamp and Women's Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Lin Dunn. Leading the pregame panel of honorees is WISH-TV sportscaster Anthony Calhoun.

Individual tickets to attend the Inspiring Women Night game and reception are $60 and a table of ten is $550. Inspiring Women Night tickets include a game ticket in Legends, with all-inclusive food and beverage and an opportunity to network with other participants. Inspiring Women Night guests receive a unique Indiana Fever gift, and for every ticket purchased, a ticket is donated to send an IPS student to a future Fever game.

Force is the winningest female Funny Car racer in NHRA history and Irsay-Gordon, the ultimate decision-maker with the NFL Colts, is in a rare breed among female NFL owners. Holtkamp is just the third woman to ref NBA games full-time and Dunn, the former Fever head coach, was coaching college basketball before most universities offered varsity programs for woman - more than two decades before the WNBA was established in 1997.

The Fever, 17-9 with eight games left in the regular season, are bidding for a WNBA-record 11th consecutive WNBA playoff berth. Currently, Indiana has won six straight games, 9 of 10, and 14 of 17 since beginning the season 3-6 under first-year head coach Stephanie White.

A WNBA playoff participant in 10 straight seasons and 11 times since 2002, the Indiana Fever have reached at least the conference finals seven times in the past 10 years - including WNBA Finals appearances in 2009 and 2012. Just two seasons ago, Indiana capped the 2012 campaign as the champions of women's basketball, beating the Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA Finals. The Fever host Inspiring Women Night presented by Elements Financial when the Los Angeles Sparks visit Bankers Life Fieldhouse (7:00 p.m.).
