Indiana Fever News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Fever (19-10) has clinched a berth in the 2011 WNBA Playoffs, by virtue of the Chicago Sky's Tuesday night loss in New York. It is the Fever's seventh consecutive playoff berth and its eighth in 12 years.

Presale access to the best seats for the Eastern Conference Semifinals (Round 1, Home Game 1) is available by registering online at FeverBasketball.com until Friday, Sept. 2 at noon, when remaining seats will go on-sale to the public.

Beginning Friday at noon, tickets will be available at FeverBasketball.com, the Conseco Fieldhouse Box Office and all Ticketmaster outlets. Tickets begin at $10 as part of a family special that requires a minimum purchase of two tickets.

WNBA Playoffs begin Thursday, Sept. 15. Below are facts about the Fever and the upcoming WNBA Playoffs.

* The Fever remains one win shy of joining the Los Angeles Sparks (1998-06) as the only franchises ever to record six 20-win seasons in a 7-year span.

* Indiana owns a run of seven straight seasons in the WNBA Playoffs and eight overall (2002, 2005-2011).

* Only the Seattle Storm (currently 7 years) can claim a longer active streak in the WNBA, if they should clinch a spot in the upcoming playoffs.

* Indiana's 7-year playoff run matches the second-longest streak in WNBA history: 8, Los Angeles (1999-06); 7, Seattle (2004-10; 2011 pending); 7, Indiana (2005-11); 7, Detroit (2003-09); 7, Houston (1997-03).

* Fever head coach Lin Dunn has reached the WNBA Playoffs for the fifth time as a WNBA head coach. Dunn owns the longest active playoff streak among current WNBA coaches (4 years, 2008-11). Seattle's Brian Agler owns a three-year streak that would match Dunn, should the Storm clinch a playoff berth.

* Lin Dunn is tied with the second-longest playoff streak among current WNBA coaches (Mike Thibault, 6, '03-'08; Lin Dunn, 4, '08-11; John Whisenant, 4, '03-'06; Brian Agler, 3, '08-10; 2011 pending)

* The Fever has advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals on three occasions (2005, 2007, 2009) - each in an odd-numbered year.

* Indiana's 19-10 record is the second-best in the WNBA and, with five games remaining, is within reach of the club's best records for wins. Indiana won 21 games in each of 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010. The Fever won a franchise-record 22 games in 2009.

* Indiana's 12-3 record at Conseco Fieldhouse is within reach of another franchise mark. Indiana's two best home seasons (14-3) were recorded in 2005 and 2009. The Fever has two remaining home games - Sept. 7 vs. Washington, Sept. 11 vs. Atlanta.

Final seeding, pairings, dates and times will not be determined until the conclusion of the regular season, Sept. 11.

A WNBA playoff participant in seven straight seasons and eight times since 2002, the Eastern Conference-leading Indiana Fever continues its 12th season by hosting Adopt-A-Pet Night on Wednesday, Sept. 7 when the Fever hosts the Washington Mystics (7:00 p.m.).
