Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

San Bernardino, CA - Yeiner Fernandez drove in a career-high five runs and the Quakes won for the first time in San Bernardino this year, as they dropped the Inland Empire 66ers by a final of 10-6 on Thursday night at San Manuel Stadium.

Fernandez had three hits and a sac fly, but it was his last hit that put it away. Leading 8-6 in the eighth, he slugged his fourth homer of the year, a two-run shot, giving Rancho a four-run lead and helping them end a two-game skid.

The Quakes and 66ers went back and forth all night, with both teams blowing multiple leads.

Austin Gauthier had a big night for the Quakes as well, as he was on four different times, finishing with three hits, three runs scored and two RBIs.

Reliever Jonathan Edwards (1-0) earned his first win in a Rancho uniform, tossing two scoreless frames in relief.

Kelvin Bautista and Madison Jeffrey combined for three innings of scoreless work behind Edwards.

Rancho (5-7, 41-37) will look for a second straight win on Friday, sending Jerming Rosario (2-5) to the mound against Julio Goff (4-6) of the 66ers at 7:05pm.

The Quakes will return home to LoanMart Field on Tuesday, July 12th, when they host the Fresno Grizzlies in a special 11:00am Summer Camp Day. Tickets are available at rcquakes.com. We hope to see you at LoanMart Field...Go Quakes!
