February 9 Windsor Express Game Rescheduled
February 8, 2018 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Windsor Express News Release
(WINDSOR, ON) - Dartis Willis, President and CEO of the Windsor Express, and Audley Stephenson, the Deputy Commissioner of the National Basketball League of Canada, today announced the rescheduling of the team's game vs the Island Storm.
Due to a weather advisory from Environment Canada, flights from Prince Edward Island were canceled, causing the game originally scheduled for Friday, February 9, will be postponed.
"Having to postpone games was an absolute last resort, but the safety of our players is paramount to us and we didn't feel that it was wise to take any unnecessary risks." said Stephenson.
The Express have rescheduled the game for Monday, March 14, at 7pm. Tickets for Friday's game will be honoured on the March 14 make-up date.
"We needed to get out in front of this and let our fans know as soon as possible," said Willis. "It's not an easy task to reschedule a game so giving as much notice as we could to everyone involved was a priority for us."
Saturday's game against the Niagara River Lions will proceed as scheduled.
