5 Things to Know About #FCDvMTL

In Search of 2-0-0

FC Dallas is looking to start the year with two wins from two for the first time in four seasons. Last year, Dallas started with one tie, one win and one loss from its opening three matches. The last time FCD earned two wins to begin the season was in 2015 when Oscar Pareja's team won its first three games on the bounce.

Kobra Strikes Again

Czech forward Zdenek "Kobra" Ondrasek scored FC Dallas' first goal of the 2020 MLS season in the 2-0 victory over Philadelphia Union on Saturday, Feb. 29. Last year, Kobra struggled for game time over the first few months of the season before exploding into life with seven goals in the final eight games. So far in 2020, Kobra has maintained his form through the offseason and will continue to lead the line for FC Dallas to start the year.

Maxi Returns

Former FC Dallas forward Maxi Urruti will return to Toyota Stadium with the Montreal Impact for the first time since making the move north of the border after the 2018 season. The Argentine ace scored 29 goals over three seasons in Dallas, helping them to the MLS Supporters' Shield and Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup double in 2016. FC Dallas faced Urruti last season in Montreal and battled back from three goals down to earn a dramatic 3-3 tie at Saputo Stadium.

Against Montreal

FC Dallas has a 5-1-2 all-time record against Montreal, including a perfect 4-0-0 record against them when playing at Toyota Stadium. Last season, Dallas travelled to Saputo Stadium and earned a 3-3 comeback draw after being three goals down in the second half.

About Montreal

Last season, Montreal narrowly missed the playoffs after finishing in ninth place in the Eastern Conference with 41 points. Thierry Henry was appointed as head coach in November of last year and has been tasked with taking the club back to the postseason after a three-season absence. Henry's reign started positively with a first-round victory over Costa Rican side Deportivo Saprissa in the Concacaf Champions League and a 2-1 win against New England Revolution last weekend to kick off their MLS season.
