Columbus Crew SC News Release
COLUMBUS - Columbus Crew SC today announced that it has loaned goalkeeper Jon Kempin to San Diego Loyal SC of the United Soccer League Championship for the 2020 USL Championship season, with Crew SC retaining the right to recall the player at any point during the MLS regular season. To date, the goalkeeper has made eight regular-season appearances (all starts) for the Black & Gold.
"It is important for Jon to consistently play games which was at the forefront of this decision," said Crew SC President and General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko. San Diego Loyal SC is led by Manager Landon Donovan and is set to debut as a team and open the 2020 USL Championship season against Las Vegas Lights FC tomorrow, Saturday, March 7 at Torero Stadium in San Diego, California.
Up next for Crew SC, the team travels to face Seattle Sounders FC tomorrow, Saturday, March 7 [10:00 p.m. ET / SportsTime Ohio, FOX Sports GO (Stream) / 97.1 The Fan HD3 & 971TheFan.com (English); ColumbusCrewSC.com (Spanish)].
