Zobeck's First Team of the Week
Goalkeeper Kyle Zobeck's month of firsts continues as he was named to the MLS Team of the Week bench for the first time after a two-save performance to help Dallas earn a 2-1 win over Houston Dynamo Saturday night. He made his MLS and FCD debut just two weeks ago after replacing an injured Jimmy Maurer away to Sporting KC and followed it up with his first start against Minnesota United on Sept. 9.
Ricaurte Announces Himself
Midfielder Andrés Ricaurte highlighted his first FC Dallas start with stunning first-time volley from outside the box to open the scoring Houston. Now with one start and one sub appearance to his name, Ricaurte has registered one goal and an assist in just 125 minutes of game time. It's been a near-perfect start to his MLS career for FC Dallas' new No. 10.
One of FC Dallas' favorite sons will return to Toyota Stadium when Colorado visits Wednesday evening. Kellyn Acosta played five-and-a-half seasons for FCD after progressing through the Academy before joining the Rapids midway through 2018. Acosta played 77 minutes in Colorado's 5-0 victory over RSL over the weekend and will likely start again on what will be his second Toyota Stadium homecoming since departing two years ago.
This will be the 75th meeting between Dallas and Colorado. FC Dallas' all-time record against the Rapids is 33-24-17 with 113 goals scored and 92 against. At home, Dallas has a 24-8-6 (67 goals for, 40 against) all-time record against the Rapids. Last year, FCD won its home leg 2-1 and fell 3-0 away at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
Colorado began 2020 in good form with back-to-back 2-1 victories before the season was halted. However, Robin Fraser's team went winless in the MLS is Back tournament and followed it up with one loss and three draws once the regular season resumed. The Rapids snapped its winless run last Saturday with a 5-0 victory away to Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium.
